EAST SYRACUSE -- Local 624 Union workers at New Process Gear in DeWitt have voted “No” on a contract aimed at keeping the plant open. Workers tell us this latest contract was voted down by 68%.

The workers told Action News they were concerned that even if they had voted yes, there were no guarantees by the plant’s owner, Magna International, that the plant would stay open.

Union members had previously rejected two contracts that called for drastic cuts in wages and health benefits.
