CENTRAL NEW YORK -- Two Central New York labs are getting almost a million dollars in federal grant money. Governor Paterson made the announcement Saturday that 925-thousand dollars has been awarded to upgrade the Robert W. Holley Center for Agriculture and Health in Ithaca and the Plant Genetic Resources Unit and Grape Genetics Research Unit in Geneva. According to the governor, the funding will improve the safety and health aspects of the laboratories, enhance energy efficiencies and reduce operating costs.
