EAST SYRACUSE -- More than two dozen jobs are being cut at Bristol-Myers Squibb in East Syracuse. A company spokesperson confirmed 25 people were notified last week that their jobs are being cut. Pam Brunet says the company regularly looks at all operations and may have to make adjustments from time to time. She says this is not a reevaluation of the entire site. "The role that this facility plays in the worldwide manufacturing network is very important," says Brunet.
Workers were given two weeks' notice. The company does provide comprehensive outplacement services, including severance packages
The East Syracuse facility will employ about 600 people after these job cuts.
In April, the company announced it will send 100 jobs to Indiana and New Jersey. The move is expected to happen by the end of 2010.
