TOWN OF LYSANDER -- Oswego Road in the Town of Lysander has re-opened following a deadly car-pedestrian accident.
Onondaga County Sheriff Kevin Walsh says the accident happened on Route 48 near Kellogg Road around 2:40 Monday morning. He says a car with three people in it was traveling northbound when it hit a woman who was lying in the road. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators do not know why the woman was lying in the road. They say she had not been struck by another vehicle prior to this accident.
The 31-year-old woman's identity has not yet been released. The sheriff says the driver of the vehicle that struck the woman was not speeding, and was not under the influence of alcohol.
Lysander is 20 miles northwest of Syracuse.
