UTICA, ONEIDA COUNTY -- A teen accused of shooting and killing his father a year and a half ago is expected to plead guilty to manslaughter on Friday.
14-year-old Joseph Giacona III had previously denied having anything to do with his father's death. Joseph Giacona Jr. was found dead in his home in Vernon in January of 2008. Eight months later, Giancona III was arraigned on a murder charge.
The Oneida County Public Defender's Office says after Giacona III’s expected guilty plea to manslaughter on Friday, the matter will be moved to family court.
