Motorists delayed, road now re-opened

Motorists traveling the Thruway east of Utica had an unexpected delay overnight: the road was closed in both directions, as flash flooding left water and debris on the highway for several hours.  Motorists were diverted into rest stops around the Exit 30 interchange. Starting about 1am, westbound traffic was  directed to the Iroquois Travel Plaza at milepost 210, and eastbound traffic was sent to to the Oneida Travel Plaza at milepost 244 until the lanes were  reopened, about 2:30 this morning.
