Discussing making college affordable
SYRACUSE (AP) -- Vice President Joe Biden says the Obama administration is dedicated to making college more affordable for working American families.
Biden led a discussion Wednesday by The White House Task Force on Middle Class Families. The panel also included Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and Education Secretary Arne Duncan.
The task force has held similar forums around the country focusing on raising the living standards of middle-class, working families.
A capacity crowd of more than 1,000 listened to the discussion in Goldstein Auditorium. Biden is a Syracuse University Law School graduate. He visited Syracuse in May to deliver the commencement address.
Biden also was the featured speaker Wednesday at a $250-a-plate fundraising luncheon for U.S. Rep. Dan Maffei.
