Nine people indicted in crack and oxycodone case

SYRACUSE -- Nine people, including three from Syracuse, have been indicted by the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of New York in connection with a major crack cocaine and oxycodone distribution organization in the Ogdensburg area.

Those indicted are:

29-year old Jamal Thompson of Syracuse
28-year old Troy Derby of Syracuse
24-year old Tamara Denardo of Syracuse
33-year old James Yerdon of Ogdensburg
35-year old Christine Dobbs of Ogdensburg
36-year old Jeffrey Pierce of Ogdensburg
22-year old Kacie Whitney of Ogdensburg
39-year old Frederick Compo of Ogdensburg
49-year old Richard Rogers of Antwerp.

The accused individuals were indicted in U.S. District Court with conspiring to possess with intent to distribute cocaine base (crack) or oxycodone pills.

If convicted of the crack cocaine offense, they face a mandatory minimum five or ten year term of imprisonment up to a maximum of life imprisonment, up to a $4 million fine, and at least five years of supervised release following any period of incarceration.
