SYRACUSE -- Two men have been indicted by a Grand Jury after police say they murdered a cab driver earlier this year.
Denny DeJesus was indicted Thursday on second degree murder, first degree attempted robbery, and criminal possession of a weapon charges. A second man, Eduardo Trinidad, was previously indicted on the same charges.
Prosecutors say DeJesus and Trinidad shot Timothy Gordon in the head on January 30, 2009 while Gordon was driving them in his taxi cab on Summit Avenue in Syracuse. Gordon’s cab crashed after he was shot, and he was taken to University Hospital where he died the next day.
Police at the time said that DeJesus and Trinidad were getting a ride from Liverpool to the west side of Syracuse, and planned to jump out of the cab in order to avoid paying the fare. They are accused of shooting Gordon before jumping out of the car and fleeing the scene.
