WATERTOWN (AP) -- Two men in their 20s have been found dead in an apparent double homicide in an apartment complex just outside Fort Drum.
Jefferson County Sheriff John Burns isn't identifying the men or saying how they were killed. But he tells the Watertown Daily Times that murder-suicide has been ruled out. The bodies were found Tuesday morning in a complex heavily tenanted by soldiers and their families in Evans Mills, near the main entrance to the Army post.
Burns declined to say whether the victims were military personnel, but Army criminal investigators were called in.
Authorities found the bodies after the men failed to show up for work for several days and their employer called police.
Burns is scheduled to hold a press conference at 5 p.m.
