WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama's meeting with top bank executives at the White House today could be a tense one.
In an interview aired last night on CBS' "60 Minutes," Obama says he didn't run for president so he could help out "a bunch of fat cat bankers on Wall Street." Improving mortgage lending practices and the administration's plans for financial reform plans are among the agenda items along with the economic recovery and small business lending.
After the meeting, the president will deliver a statement on the economy.
In the afternoon, Obama welcomes President Michel Suleiman of Lebanon to the White House.
