ITHACA, TOMPKINS COUNTY (AP) -- Most of the more than 60 pianos vandalized at Ithaca College's music center have been repaired and are back in use.
College officials say a student discovered the damaged pianos Sunday in the practice room at the James J. Whalen Center for Music. Many had parts missing or had been tipped over, but most were easily repaired.
The music center is open during daytime hours seven days a week so students can use the practice rooms and instruments.
An online message posted by the School of Music's dean says the college's piano technicians were able to repair most of the instruments by the end of the day on Sunday.
College officials are investigating along with state police.
