The closing of the last Saturn Dealership in Syracuse has Saturn owners wondering where they can go to get their cars repaired.
GM has designated Burdick Buick at the Drivers Village auto mall in Cicero as the area's authorized Saturn service provider. Drivers who don't want to go to Drivers Village may be able to take their cars to independent repair shops though mechanics like Dale Marsteller, who says finding the right parts could be difficult. " They have some very specific parts, it's not something you can by from another dealer. Many companies make products that crossover but Saturn is a beast on its own," Marsteller says.
Some Saturn's will need to have their onboard computers reprogrammed and that is something independent dealers cannot do. Marsteller says he hears help may be on the way for Saturn owners. "What I heard was that Chevy is going to pick up the slack on that the Chevy dealer are going to be able to buy the specific software they need to make the repairs," Marsteller says.
Burdick Buick plans to have a press conference ten o'clock Friday morning to answer any questions Saturn owners may have about options for getting their cars serviced.
