14th year of Christmas meals planned
Steve Agnello started by offering a free Christmas meal to veterans. 14 years later, he has expanded the offer to include seniors, and anyone who needs food or companionship. And he does more than offer the meal: the Seneca Falls VFW offers a sit-down buffet, as well as a free shuttle to pick up (and take home) anyone who otherwise can't come. There are also take-outs, and meal deliveries.
Last year they served 350, and more are expected this year. Agnello's 'staff' includes his daugher, who's been helping out most of her life. Volunteers do the work, and it's paid for with contributions from the VFW and area businesses, but more is always needed.
