LYONSDALE --

An autopsy has been ordered to determine the exact cause of death after a house fire in Lewis County on Saturday.

The Seneca County Sheriff's Department says crews were called to a house on Wildcat Road in Lyonsdale around 7:00 pm, and that the home was filled smoke, but the fire had been already been extinguished by the residents.

64-year-old James Redner was taken to Lewis County General Hospital, suffering from possible smoke inhalation, and was pronounced dead a short time later. His wife, Charlotte Redner, was also treated for possible smoke inhalation.

Port Leyden and Turin fire and ambulace crews say there was no damage to the residence.
