Hundreds came out to the Double Tree hotel in East Syracuse to ring in the new year the right way. With their festive theme, you could be anywhere in the world from Great Britain, to Italy, Germany and Holland.
For many, 2009 was a difficult year. From jobs to the economy, a lot of people were caught up in the whirlwind of events, and everyone says they are ready to turn the page and start 2010. Nikki Feroni, of Syracuse says, "I'd love to see the economy get better, for everyone, including us. I'd love to see improvement, it looks like its on the upswing, it looks like 2010 is set to be a good year." While EJ Gridley, also from Syracuse, says, "My father owns his own company and he felt the effects so I hope it picks up for everybody."
Midnight marks not only a new year, but a new decade and almost everyone agrees it feels like yesterday we were ringing in the year 2000. Amazing how time flies.
