Mayoral inauguration set for Jan. 9

Stephanie Miner’s formal swearing-in as Syracuse mayor is set for next Saturday, Jan. 9 at 10 a.m.

The ceremony will be in Clinton Square, with a parade leading up to the swearing-in. The mayor will be walking from city hall, accompanied by ceremony participants and the Syracuse Kiltie Pipe Band.

Miner’s Oath of Office will be administered by Judge Kate Rosenthal. Councilor at-large Bill Ryan will serve as Master of Ceremonies.

After, there will be refreshments at The Atrium in Clinton Square.

The mayor was officially sworn in prior to Jan. 1, in accordance with the city charter. She was sworn in by Judge Rosemary Pooler Dec. 24, at her home.
