Sale starts Friday, cookies arrive in March
It is almost Girl Scout cookie time--with some changes this year.
The organization re-organized and most of our viewing area, along with parts of Pennsylvania, is now under one administrative area.
That's meant a change in sales times for, for example, Cayuga-area scouts who used to sell earlier in the year.
The actual sales start Friday (January 8th), and while there are still door to door efforts, more girls will also be working at 'storefronts' at businesses that allow them in, and will also contact potential customers by email, according to area executive director Pam Hyland, who oversees the NY-Penn Pathways area. She says mints are still the best seller, but there are new varieties this year, including one that has cranberries and white chocolate.
