WAVERLY, NY (AP) -- State police say a snowmobile collided with a dump truck in Franklin County, killing the rider.

They say 53-year-old Christopher Macey of Morrisonville was driving the second snowmobile in a group of four when he came to a sharp curve and wasn't able to avoid hitting the oncoming truck. The accident happened at about 11:00 a.m. Thursday on a local road in the town of Waverly, about 140 miles north of Albany.

Macey was thrown from the sled and declared dead at Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone. The truck driver wasn't reported hurt.

Troopers say no tickets have been issued. Their investigation is continuing.
