NORTH SYRACUSE -- North Syracuse police are investigating a series of car break-ins. They say items are being stolen out of cars in broad daylight. But now, police are hoping surveillance video will help them make an arrest in the case.
Police told Action News that, in the past two months, there have been at least 9 car break-ins in North Syracuse, some of them in broad daylight.

Investigators say the man, and woman with him, are returning merchandise to a store that had been stolen from a car.
Officials say these break-ins are getting progressively worse. At first, items were taken from unlocked cars, but now, they are actually smashing windows to get in. Police, also, say stealing during broad daylight isn't something they normally see.
Officials recommend that, if you're going to leave something in your car, make sure it's hidden so thieves can’t see anything they can take from your car.
