CANANDAIGUA (AP) -- A central New York woman will spend four months of weekends in jail plus six months on electronic home monitoring for a fatal hit-and-run accident.
Amy King of the Yates County town of Italy pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident. In addition to jail time and home monitoring, Ontario County Court Judge William Kocher also ordered her Wednesday to pay a $2,000 fine and spend five years on probation. Her license was also revoked.
King's car struck 33-year-old Thomas Stringer Jr. of Shortsville in Ontario County in a Canandaigua parking at 1:45 a.m. on March 22.
Two days after hitting Stringer and driving away, King turned herself in to police.
