With the Special Olympics winter games in Syracuse in less than three weeks, the organizing committee is putting out a call for volunteers.  Laurie Kennedy, regional director of the Special Olympics, says they need people to set up and take down, help with the opening ceremonies and the games themselves.  Some familiarity with winter sports is helpful but not necessary.
The Winter Special Olympics will attract over 400 athletes and their families and supporters.  They'll be held February 5 & 6, and for more information or to volunteer:  800 836-8976 or www.specialolympicsny.org
