BOSTON (AP) -- Democrats and Republicans are ramping up their get-out-the-vote efforts on the last day of a tight Massachusetts Senate race.
Both sides say turnout will be key in a race that could decide the fate of President Barack Obama's health care overhaul. Obama campaigned yesterday for Democrat Martha Coakley.
Democrats enjoy a 3-to-1 registration advantage in Massachusetts but are scrambling to mobilize their base. Many voters are wary of the health care plan and are supporting Republican Scott Brown, who has vowed to block it if he is elected.
Republicans have highly motivated supporters and are targeting independent voters, who have been receptive to Brown's message.
Voters cast ballots tomorrow in a special election to fill the seat held by the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy.
