DEWITT -- This week's My School segment takes us to Jamesville-DeWitt High School, where some student-athletes talk to us about a unique relationship with Christian Brothers Academy.

The schools are virtually in the same neighborhood, and share an intense rivalry in some sports, namely boys and girls basketball. But for other sports, the schools combine to field teams. This dynamic is true for sports like hockey, boys swimming and diving, and wrestling. The combining of sports provides a unique situation for many student athletes, who in the case of the wrestlers, were teammates on Tuesday night, but found themselves rooting on opposite sides of  the gym for the boys basketball game on Friday.

It teaches the student athletes a lot about competition and certainly a lot about teamwork. Some J-D athletes may play against CBA in some sports, but in others they have to work together for the victory. Last week was especially unique because in nearly every winter sport, J-D either played against CBA or their combined teams were in action.
