SYRACUSE -- Residents of Onondaga County have another chance to receive an H1N1 “swine flu” vaccination from the county for the 2009-2010 flu season. The Onondaga County Health Department says it will hold an H1N1 flu shot clinic on Friday, January 29 from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Drumlins Country Club on Nottingham Road in Syracuse.

The clinic is free for any resident of Onondaga County who is six months old or older. The health department says that children less than ten years old should get two doses of the vaccine at least four weeks apart. Older children and adults only need one dose.

The department says that those interesed in receiving a shot must make an appointment in advance. Appointments can be made by visiting www.onflu.net or calling 435-5752.

The department will also offer smaller H1N1 clinics at the Harris Health Center on Slocum Avenue in Syracuse. Those clinics will be held on Wednesdays from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. beginning on January 27. Appointments are also necessary for these clinics.

There is no charge for the H1N1 vaccines.
