ATLANTIC CITY, NJ -- A Central Square man has been arrested in Atlantic City, accused of robbing a bank in New York.
New York State Police say 31-year-old Christopher M. Seamans of Shanty Creek Road in Central Square was arrested Wednesday morning by the Atlantic City Police Department. He is charged with second degree robbery in connection with the robbery of an NBT Bank in Grand Gorge, New York on Tuesday. Grand Gorge is a small town in the Catskill Mountains, southwest of Albany.
State Police say they are looking to receive a search warrant for Seamans’ vehicle, and a hotel room in Atlantic City. Police believe the vehicle was used in the alleged robbery. State Police investigators are in Atlantic City working with Atlantic City Police and the FBI on the case.
20-year-old Emily E. White of Bates Avenue in Oneida was also taken into custody with Seamans, but police have not indicated if she is being charged in connection with the robbery. Troopers do say that both Seamans and White will be charged as fugitives from justice based upon a New York arrest warrant.
Troopers ask that anyone with any information on the ongoing investigation call State Police in Sidney at 607-561-7400.
