GEDDES -- Workers from the warehouse division operated by Penn Traffic are learning their options. Members of the Teamsters Local 317 held meetings today at the New York State Fairgrounds.

During the meeting, workers were given tips on applying for unemployment, and what to do with their 401k if they don't have a job. Union officials did not say anything definite about a closure date.

Many of the workers are pessimistic about the future of their jobs. Under the deal between Penn Traffic and Tops Markets, it appears the warehouses would close and workers would lose their jobs. Earlier this week, a bankruptcy judge signed off on a deal for Tops to buy all of Penn Traffic's assets.
