AUBURN -- A Fulton man was arraigned this morning on charges he killed one driver and injured another in a drunken fit of road rage. William L. LeVea entered a not guilty plea today to a 15 count indictment accusing him of the November 20, 2009 murder of Christopher Spack.

Spack, 41, of Camillus called 911 to say he was being chased and repeatedly rammed by a car while he was traveling on Plainville Road in Onondaga County.  Spack told the 911 operator he had no idea who was chasing him or why he was being rammed.  The indictment alleges LeVea continued to ram Spack's pickup truck as both vehicles continued into Cayuga County. After one hit Spack, lost control  and skidded into the path of another vehicle. He was killed instantly. The other driver, Bradley Leyburn, was seriously injured.

Among the charges LeVea faces: Murder in the 2nd Degree, Aggravated Vehicular Homicide, Vehicular Manslaughter 2nd Degree, Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree, Assault 2nd Degree, Assault 3rd Degree, DWI.

Prosecutors contend LeVea had a blood alcohol content of 0.16%, which is double the amount for a motorist to be considered drunk.

The Cayuga County District Attorney's office reported that LeVea has two prior convictions; one for robbery and assault in 1954, and another in 1968 for assault.

LeVea remains in custody without bail. He's due back in court April 1st.
