SYRACUSE -- It was a picturesque night in Clinton Square Sunday night as lots of kids made their way around the rink. Normally on a Sunday night, it would be slow. But this particular Sunday night, there was free skating from 7 to 9pm. Parents were thrilled to have an activity for the kids that didn't empty out their wallets.
Michele Lindsey brought her kids. She said, "We're interested in giving our kids activities outdoors, healthy activities, fitness related, and that it's free, it's added bonus."
Vernon Roberts brought his son. He said, "At least down here it doesn't cost a lot. It's something fun for them to do and get them outside and keep them away from the video games all the time."
Parents say, while kids are on vacation from school, its tough to keep them entertained and not spend a lot of money.
Winterfest continues through the Feb. 21st. You can find out all the other activities planned by going to http://www.syracusewinterfest.com/
