ALBANY (AP) -- New York energy officials say about 30,000 people around the state have claimed rebates in the first four days of the state's Great Appliance Swap Out.
The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority said Monday that residents had claimed about $4 million in rebates. Nearly $13 million remains for the program, which is in effect through Feb. 21.
Rebates for efficient refrigerators, clothes washers and freezers are $50 to $105 for a single appliance. Shoppers can get up to $555 for a three-appliance package.
Participants must be replacing old appliances.
