When it comes to his Toyota Corolla, Sekou Bility of Syracuse says he's had a bunch of issues. Clearly he's not alone. Toyota is looking into complaints some drivers have with power steering.
Bility says, "It's very much scary, because on the highway you have to be very careful especially in the winter."
As Toyota considers a recall of the Corolla, Bility is paying close attention. He's had problems with the steering and has had brake problems. Anthony Masello, owner of Masello's auto, has been working on cars and says loss of control could be the issue. He says drivers want it to be harder to turn the wheel in higher speeds so they don't go off the road.
Masello said, "If they don't feel in control of the wheel, the variable speed could be the issue in the compound steering."
Masello says the recall may shake consumer confidence a bit, but it's not only Toyota owners who should pay attention. He says they see a lot of cars, where the parts are made by the same company, so the same thing could happen to a lot of cars

There could be serious new problems for Toyota.
Another recall could be in store as the automaker considers calling back the popular Corolla model. There have been about a hundred complaints of problems with the power steering and this would be another enormous blow to the automaker, and could involve more than a million vehicles.
January sales were down 16-percent and that has caused Toyota to shut down production at two US factories.
Even Consumer Reports has withdrawn its recommendations for all of the recalled Toyotas. Soon, drivers will find out if more Toyotas are is on the recall list.
