SYRACUSE -- The parade route may be short, but there's no shortage of enthusiasm. Decked in all sorts of green, people came out to Tipp Hill in Syracuse Sunday to watch the bagpipers, Irish step dancers, and of course the delivery of the tanker filled with green beer.
"I love it, it's a party brings everyone together and it's a great time," said Shane Willis.
Green beer day is a yearly tradition on Tipp Hill. This year, Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner served as the parade's grand marshall.
"It's a time to get together and celebrate as we do in all the neighborhoods in the city and couldn't have a better event," Miner said.
With the hundreds of people who attend the event, it's hard to believe, it was once a small gathering that has grown over the years. It's a yearly tradition and celebration that means both spring and St. Patrick's Day are right around the corner.
"This is bigger than Christmas, St. Patrick's season is," said Peter Coleman, owner of Coleman's Irish Pub.
