(AP) -- Thousands of homes and businesses scattered around New York are still without power following last week's snow storm.
Crews from utility companies across the state were working Sunday to restore electricity, remove trees that knocked down power lines and replace broken poles.
In the Hudson Valley, the Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corp. reported approximately 77,000 customers were without power. About 1,000 workers are working to restore service. Company officials say repairs could take until Wednesday.
In New York City and its northern suburbs, Consolidated Edison estimated about 9,900 customers are without power. The majority were in Westchester County.
New York State Electric and Gas said it had restored power to all customers by Sunday morning. It serves parts of Westchester, Dutchess and Putnam counties.
