SYRACUSE -- Corcoran High School is this week's stop, where the W.E.B. Du Bois National Honor Society is the first of its kind in all of New York State.
The W.E.B. Du Bois National Honor Society is for minority students who are in the "10th percentile" or with an 85 average or better. Students who are members have scholarships at three prestigious universities waiting for them.
While that is all certainly impressive, it's what the members do that makes the group so special. The students partake in numerous community service event, they've raised money for the Kirk Park Cheerleaders and the Mountain Goat Run among several other worthy causes. It's this responsibility both academically and in the students' communities that makes the members of the W.E.B. Du Bois National Honor Society so special.
