NORTH SYRACUSE -- Budget troubles for the North Syracuse Central School District are far from over.
On Monday the Onondaga County Legislature decided to cut $2.2 million in tax revenue from the school district. Now the superintendent and the board members are faced with making up yet another financial loss.
North Syracuse schools superintendent Dr. Jerome Melvin says this coming school year is going to be a challenge, but the years that follow will be even harder to close an ever growing budget gap. He says he is working with the school board around the clock to help solve this financial crisis.
When the school board meets next month they are expected to vote on a budget that will that be passed on to the voters for approval.
The public vote is scheduled for May.
