BALDWINSVILLE -- Police in Baldwinsville are searching for the driver of a truck that was pulled out of the Seneca River overnight. It all started around 2:00 Monday morning, when police got into a chase with a driver in the area. The driver apparently took off, and the truck went into the water.

Dive crews were called in to help with the search, as police weren't sure if the driver was in the truck or not when it went into the river.

Tom Perkins of the Baldwinsville Fire Department tells us the truck was found a quarter mile from where it actually went in. He says it got hung up on a safety line between Paper Mill Island and River Street.

Perkins says police planned to regroup this morning and continue searching for the driver of the truck.

So far there has been no update on the whereabouts of the driver, nor any information on his identity. Stay with CNYcentral.com for the latest developments.
