Basketball floor moving out tonight
A win at tonight's Elite 8 game at the Carrier Dome is not the final event for Syracuse's Sweet 16 weekend, and the last act will be as carefully orchestrated as the tournament games. It will start, says Dome Manager Peter Sala, exactly four hours after the last player/coach news conference after the Kentucky-West Virginia showdown. Sala says that, at that point, his crew will do the exact opposite of what they did last week: they'll be disassembling the basketball court that the games here have been played on.
The floor is made by a different company, and thinner than the one the SU home games are played on.
Sala says the NCAA floor will be crated up and sent back to its manufacturer, which hopes to re-sell it after the tournament is over.
