SYRACUSE -- A Syracuse man has received his punishment for trying to kidnap an eleven-year-old girl this past January.
29-year-old Raoul Baldwin will spend the next six years in state prison. Police say Baldwin lured a girl into his home on Butternut Street by asking her to get a bag of toys from the basement. He then grabbed her by the neck and held her there against her will.
The child was able to escape when other children came looking for her.
Baldwin pleaded guilty in March to a felony count of attempted kidnapping. He could have received up to 15 years in prison had the case gone to a trial.
