NORTH SYRACUSE -- The North Syracuse Central School District Board of Education has adopted its budget.
Superintendent Jerome Melvin says this is not a good situation because people will lose their jobs.
The budget is 2.1% less than last school year's budget. It includes eliminating 102 positions. Of those positions, 65 will be cut through layoffs. The rest will be through retirement or attrition.
Even with those cuts, there will be a 2.76% property tax increase.
The budget goes to voters on May 18th.
