CAZENOVIA -- This week’s My School takes us to Cazenovia High School, where the students are proud to show off their technology and communications departments.
The communications department is famous on campus for producing live announcements and covering events around the school like sporting events and benefits, including one recently for Taylor Matt, who suffers from leukemia. The students are learning hands-on practical experience that will benefit them in their future careers - we say 'future' careers because many students in the department tell us that the classes they’ve taken have convinced them that broadcasting and other communications fields are for them.
The school also features "Project Lead The Way", where students can take up to five engineering classes which could translate into 16 credits at the Rochester Institute of Technology. The students show wits well beyond their years, including building an electric car which can reach speeds up to 45 miles per hour.
