WEST SENECA, NY (AP) -- Authorities say police in a Buffalo suburb shot and wounded two people after one of them got out of a car and opened fire on officers.
Police say they received a call around 3:40 p.m. Sunday reporting an armed man making threats at a home in West Seneca, just east of Buffalo. Officials say he got into a car with another person and they drove off.
Police say officers were attempting to pull the car over when the driver stopped. Officials say the man got out and fired a rifle at the officers, who then shot the man and the driver.
A third person in the car wasn't hurt. No officers were injured.
Both the shooter and the driver were taken to a hospital. Their names and conditions were't being released Monday morning.
