SYRACUSE -- This week’s edition of My School takes us to Henninger High School, where the special education students put on their own version of “American Idol”. The auditorium was filled with the tunes of famous songs as the kids danced away, showing off their moves for the rest of the school to see. There was also some singing, showing that these students have what it takes to make it to the top.
This was the seventh edition of "Henninger Idol", and each year it gets bigger and better. Instructor Kate Kolb says “there’s nothing like it”, and describes how happy the participants are while learning great lessons about teamwork. Our story took place the day of the actual "Henninger Idol" show, and as you’ll see in the video the intense rehearsals made for a fantastic show!
