SYRACUSE -- The Syracuse Police have unveiled a new tool in fighting crime.
A link on the Syracuse police department website will give the public access to the county-wide warrant database. Police say the new site will enhance communication with the public and empower them to help police.
The site will list felony, traffic and misdemeanor warrants, though police offer a word of advice if you should find your name on that site. If you have a warrant and you are on the page, you are being given an opportunity to come in and surrender yourself and take care of it in City Court.
Sgt. John Savage of the Syracuse Police Department says, “My advice to you is, do it and do it soon, because stronger initiatives will follow”.
The link will become active on Wednesday.
