MANLIUS, ONONDAGA CO. -- Police in the Town of Manlius are asking for the public's help in identifying two individuals suspected of vandalizing the Fayetteville-Manlius High School library this past weekend.
Police say sometime late Saturday night or early Sunday morning two people managed to enter the school and damage the library. Police say there was no readily visible evidence that anyone broke into the exterior of the school, however windows on the doors leading into the library were damaged to gain access to the library itself.
High school principal Jim Chupalia says the individuals involved cleared multiple bookshelves, knocking books all over the floor and even knocking down bookcases. Some of the cases have been damaged.
Police say there was a school dance and other activities in the building on Saturday night, and the perpetrators could have remained in the building after the events had ended.
The school library was closed on Monday while staff worked to clean up the mess.
The school does employ surveillance cameras, and video from those cameras has been turned over to police investigators. Click on the video tab or link to watch video of the two suspects walking through the school's hallways.
Investigators are asking that anyone who recognizes the suspects or has any information on this case call Manlius Police at 682-2212.
