CAMILLUS (AP) -- Police in a Syracuse suburb say a Pennsylvania man was drinking the night he jumped from a moving vehicle, resulting in fatal injuries.
Camillus police say 36-year-old Michael Tita of Nazareth, Pennsylvania was in the Syracuse area to visit an old Army buddy he hadn't seen in more than a decade.
Police say Tita had spent Saturday night drinking at a bar, then left with a friend from Pennsylvania. Officers say the friend was driving a minivan around 2:40 a.m. Sunday when Tita suddenly jumped out.
He suffered a fractured skull and was taken to a Syracuse hospital, where he died from his injuries Tuesday afternoon.
Police say Tita was intoxicated at the time he jumped from the vehicle.
