ALBANY -- Dozens of state lawmakers took action Wednesday evening, staging a "sit-in" outside Governor Paterson's office.
28 Assembly Democrats waited outside Gov. Paterson's office for about an hour. The governor eventually came out and discussed the budget with lawmakers for about 45 minutes to an hour.
Assemblyman Bill Magnarelli was one of the lawmakers involved in the "sit-in." He says he and his colleagues are frustrated and they want to get the budget process moving.
Magnarelli says he feels the "sit-in" did accomplish something. " thought it was very very positive. I think good things will come out of it in terms of meetings next week starting Monday, which I hope will be fruitful and get the budget process moving quicker."
Those meetings will include open public leaders meetings.
The budget is now 40 days overdue.
