JAMESVILLE -- The Onondaga County Parks Department has announced that beaches at Oneida Shores Park in Brewerton and Jamesville Beach Park in Jamesville will be opening for the season on Saturday, May 29.
Hours of operation for both beaches will be 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. on weekends and Memorial Day, and 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. weekdays thru mid-June. Admission per vehicle is $5 on weekends and holidays and $4 weekdays. Season beach passes, valid at both parks, are available for $31.50. Pass applications are available at the beaches, the County Parks Main Office in Liverpool or online at www.OnondagaCountyParks.com.
At Oneida Shores, on the largest inland lake in New York, there is a sandy waterfront with lifeguards, a children's playground and kayaks and Power Paddlers for kids available to rent. The dozens of shaded, lakeview campsites offer a perfect opportunity for a quick getaway.
The waters of Jamesville Reservoir and Butternut Creek are great places to rent a canoe, kayak, rowboat or paddleboat. The sandy beach with lifeguards, a waterfront playground and 18 hole disc golf course are some of the special features of this beautiful park surrounded by rolling hills.
