Chances are you or someone you know suffers from migraine headaches. It's not just a bad headache. It's an extremely debilitating condition that usually includes a severe recurring intense throbbing pain on the side of the head. Migraines often include nausea, dizziness and extreme sensitivity to light.
Over 30 million people, roughly 10% of the population, suffer from migraines. They affect women three times more often than men. Migraines can be difficult to diagnose, analyze and treat. Each case presents differently making it challenging for physicians. Some research shows migraines can be caused by a chemical in the brain called serotonin. A lot of factors can effect the serotonin level including blood sugar, certain foods and changes in estrogen levels for women.
