GEDDES -- On Wednesday, May 26, additional tickets to the Justin Bieber and Rush concerts at the New York State Fair's Mohegan Sun Grandstand will be released for sale.
Regular tickets to see Bieber, a teen pop star who will be appearing with Sean Kingston and Jessica Jarrell on Aug. 29, are sold out. The Fair will release 1,201 obstructed-view tickets, most of which will not be available in groups of more than two or three. Obstructed-view seats are generally not sold for grandstand concerts until all other seats are gone because the stage is partially blocked from view by the grandstand's support beams. Both $55 and $45 obstructed-view tickets will be available.
The Fair will also begin selling 480 limited-view tickets to the Sept. 2 grandstand concert by the classic rock band Rush. These are not obstructed-view seats, but $65 floor seats that were originally not sold because they offer a limited view of the stage. The rest of the $65 tickets for the Rush performance are currently sold out. Initially, 480 track-level seats - all of which are in the top-priced viewing area - were not sold because they are located to the sides of the stage and offer a limited view of the band's drummer. Because of high demand, they will be released for sale Wednesday. These are NOT obstructed view seats. Tickets at the lower, $45 price level are still on sale now.
The tickets will be available through Ticketmaster starting at 10 a.m. on May 26.
Fans can buy tickets online through Ticketmaster.com or order and pay by phone by calling 1-800-745-3000 or 1-866-448-7849. The New York State Fair Box Office will not be open again for concert ticket sales until 10 a.m. on May 29, when tickets to see Aerosmith on the opening day of the Fair will go on sale.
Six of the Fair's seven grandstand shows have been announced including: Aerosmith on Aug. 26, Jeff Dunham on Aug. 27, Rihanna on Aug. 28, Justin Bieber on Aug. 29, Rush on Sept. 2, and Rascal Flatts with Kellie Pickler and Chris Young on Sept. 4. Tickets for Rush, Rihanna and Rascal Flatts are on sale now. Tickets to see Jeff Dunham will go on sale June 5.
The 2010 Fair will run from Aug. 26 to Sept. 6.
