ALBANY -- In an odd case of same name, different person, a man named "Gerry McNamara" resigned from his job with the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance recently after allegedly being discovered dealing drugs at work.
Of course this is not the same Gerry McNamara that starred for the Syracuse Orange basketball team from 2002-2006 and is currently an assistant coach at SU.
In the story from the Albany Times-Union, the former tax department employee is alleged to have possessed and sold drugs to his co-workers, at least one of whom is suspected of using the drugs at work. The suspects allegedly discussed their dealings via email, using the codeword "cheese" whenever they wanted to make a transaction.
